Visual acuity levels with usual correction, if any, as determined in the opthahnology examination before diIation by race, geographic region, family income, and other selected demographic variabIes. In accordance with specificaticms established by the National Health Survey, the Bureau of the Census, under a contractual agreement, participated in the design and selection of the sample, and carried out the first stage of the field interviewing and certain parts of the statistical processing.
